7/9 seat belt buttons. Can you swap them?

I have a 96 960 and the drivers side button is gone. Is it possible to swap one from the rear seats or maybe the passenger side so I can pass inspection? I'm not finding just the buttons for sale any where.

If they're the same as in a 940, IPD sells new ones. Also, I've successfully swapped good ones from the rear buckles myself, so that's an option as well.

Aaah sweet! Thats what I need. IPD's website is saying it doesn't fit my car, which is obviously why I couldn't find them when I was searching! Those are definately the right buttons though.

Thanks!

Wait are you sure? The ones iPD sells are for 94 and before - the ones for your car are more rounded. If you’re just talking about the red eject button - that is. Can you post a pic of your latches?

The whole buckle assembly is the same for the driver and passenger front seats - just be forewarned you’d have to remove the seat to unhook the wires underneath.

If you want to swap just the red buttons, they are the same for all the buckles in the car :)

These are my new seats, but my old ones has the same style latches. My old seats were completely toasted. Both cars were 96's.

I temporarily "failed" a NYS inspection because the inspector couldn't get the rear bench up and find the buckles in my 245.

Where I liveis pretty fast and loose with the inspection. If I have latches in the front I'll be OK. They don't do emissions here either. Basically check the tires, wipers, lights, and brakes and you're pretty good.

It works!

And I’m so sorry, but yes - the IPD buttons will work for yours.

It’s weird - I’ve never seen those in a 95+ 960... maybe I’m only thinking of s/v90 buckles (which have different more rounder shape.)

Sorry about that!

Its all good cuz. I did want the s/v90 seats because I think they look better, but these came up in the right place and the right time.
