I miss reading about this car, it was inspiration for my white 242.

Don't worry man, I pulled the M46 and stock driveshaft out today and am working on the T5 swap. I'm looking for a 2.4 flywheel to resurface and am going to buy a new clutch disk, but then should be good to go.

Summer has been really busy as usual but it's really now or never to put some miles on it this year. I almost pulled the trigger on a couple '68 Mustangs in the last few weeks but decided the 242 needs all the love (and the $$).

Okay, quick update as I've actually been working on the car in the last few weeks and should be able to continue through October.

- T5 is 98% ready to go in, just waiting on spacers to mate the Ford TO bearing to the Volvo cable clutch fork. My dad is fabricating them and I should have them tomorrow.

- Headlights, power windows and power locks are all working again. Euro headlight system is a plug and play setup with relays so I can run the high wattage bulbs.

- Interior is going back in this weekend. Been doing some serious sound proofing to keep it civil on the inside. This has also been a good opportunity to do some wiring cleanup before putting the carpet and dash back in.

Goal is to drive it again next weekend. Just one pic of the Dynamat for now:

Carpet, door panels and rear seat are in. The rear seat is original to the car and was dyed (actually airbrushed) black. Third brake light is also in place - I just need to find the mounting plate and tap into the brake wiring. Next steps are fabricating brackets for the M3 seats, cleaning up the wiring and installing the dash.

Also solved the missing door trim issue by adapting a piece of rear quarter panel trim to fit. By cutting and gluing the ends of another door piece, it came out pretty well.

Finally, the T5 is chillin on the workbench awaiting installation. Clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, T5 pilot bearing and new RMS are all done.

So the M3 seats are just "mocked up" at this point (and it's too dark for better pics), but the fit looks good and adapting them shouldn't be too bad. On the inboard seat rails I can use the stock front mounting points, and the rear inboard points are in line with the rails so just straight adaptor pieces will be required. The stock outboard bolts are too far in for these seat rails, so a bit more adaptation will be required. Ride height and pedal reach look to be fine.

T5 is also ready to go in, which is scheduled for tomorrow evening. Maybe I'll get to drive it again this season!

And yes, I have a black e-brake handle that will be going in this weekend.
