I've found the key to getting old parts from the dealers is to not tell them what it is, just tell them the part number.

I used to have the microfiche on all the old models.

You're making quick work of this repair and upgrades Adam. I know it may not feel like it on your end, but it's impressive to see you flying through this phase of the car's life.

What happened with the insurance claim ? Are they making any progress ?

My body and brain are paying the price for the long hours though.

I asked my insurance adjuster where we are at with the subrogation and he said the other insurance took a month to collect the statement from the driver and the business owner. Of course. I知 supposed to hear more by the end of the week.

I値l try to post more pics later tonight, but I知 reassembling some parts and finally get to see the color in the sun. I love it. It痴 hard to photo, but it gets a bit brighter when the sun hits it and a bit warmer in the shade. Bead blasted all the latch components, lubed them up and replaced all the hardware with stainless

Hard to tell so sure from a picture but that color looks to have depth and warmth if that makes sense? Has an original vibe but more complex. Like it!

After seeing it in the sun today, I知 extra happy. In direct sunlight it shows brighter white, and in the shade it痴 deeper. Almost like a pearl color, but much simpler. Also, in the pictures it looks fairly 田ream-ish but in person it痴 less yellow looking. All in all I知 plenty happy with the color. We値l see once the whole car is painted, but so far....

That痴 cause I just put a bead of grey RTV around each bolt hole. I feel like everyone痴 trying to 田atch me today. so, before the next round comes through, -yes, I put antiseize on the stainless hardware and-yes, I satin clear coated the parts I bead blasted. I guess this is what happens when you put nice paint on something.

I think that gasket is there to prevent the striker from being moved around “every time” you close the door.

Hood hinge work. Pretty time consuming, but gotta be done

Last pieces that needed to be cut in (besides the hood)

I’m so tired guys. I can’t keep up with notifications and I forget the GoPro some days. Paint is going on this weekend. Might be in a booth, might be in a garage, might be in my driveway, but it’s getting painted. There’s some more videos up on my YouTube channel. Same lame stuff. Can’t wait to post up some driving videos.

No idea how you do it. I practically gave up on having mine running by summer.

Absolutely stunning. What a way to show off what’s under the hood with something quite a bit different. Hats off Adam.

The giant calipers make a return! Also adding an OE gas strut to hold the hood.

In some more “bummer”-ish news, my entire department is being eliminated at work in six weeks. Which means the spend on this build will be dropping to next to zero. I’ll still finish paint and some other misc stuff, but the project will be going into hibernation a bit. Hopefully I can just enjoy the car as is for a while and not HAVE to do anything to it. Sorry guys

Sucks to hear the news about your job, but you'll get it turned around. Guys with your skills are valuable. Hopefully you can at least get the car to a point where you can use and enjoy it, then come back to the end goal later on.
