Someone recently backed into my car and is dragging their feet with insurance, I'll get what I'm due; eventually, one way or another. However I figured I could get another chassis for less than what bodywork, paint, and a windshield would cost.
So I've found myself in position to potential purchase 1 (or possible both) of 2 cars. One is a clean, mostly stripped 1984 245 turbo - sans engine. The other is a 1990 245 auto, clean body, all intact, but not running.
The overall goal is to create bassically a Group-A wagon:
Flat Hood, E-codes, 86+ fenders- bumpers -windsheild hatch - LH 2.4, 91+ A/C, 1031 w/ G80 etc....
So the quesiton is, should build the 84 which basically has all the exterior qualities I'm looking for (minus swaping the fenders, windsheild and hatch)? Or should I use the 90 as a base, since it as galvanized sheet metal, more modern A/C and a usable wiring?
