1963 Volvo Tank Hunter

Haha, now now. I am not going to insult 240's, but this thing is bad ass! Who needs a v8 jeep wrangler that stupid common when you can have one of these!

Yea Volvo has a few skeletons in the closet. What is visible at the volvo museum is a very small fraction of what they actually have.
There are warehouses filled with cars and projects.
Today's GPS system was partially started by Volvo, they wanted the 960 to be able to have more power when needed. The T6 was designed to go in the 960 but was too powerful. It had a twin turbo system that was bigger than the S80got.
The idea was to be able to call your dealer and add 50-100hp when you were towing a trailer etc. so when you went on vacation in the summer you would call the dealer and add 50hp for a month to tow your camper. The idea was to call with a code, the dealer types it in and it sends a signal to the cars computer and you had the power you needed. Volvo and 2 other companies develiped the GPS system to send those signals so now you can thank a 960 for never needing to read a map again..

Now with forward mounted winch receiver! Tough to find a good place to mount in the front. Welded plates on the side of a receiver and attached to fenders with a plate on the inside of the fender. Added plugs to the front and back to make it easy. No more winching backwards or running the line under the vehicle.

Looks like a nice fab job but you may have some awkward pulls from that high up. You will find yourself looking for some relatively high places to which to hook your winch.

No luck getting stuck!

The view from our picnic last week. Lost a headlight in the bush pushing down a tight trail to get there.

This is the posted map of the OHV, Off Highway Vehicle Area, about 15 miles from my house.

No pics of the trail action up there yet. We spend a lot of time up there but I'm usually to busy traversing rocks to have my ol lady jump out for pics. The steering column had a broken column bearing so that had to get worked on. Just bought a new harness for it so I can rewire the entire vehicle.
