Question 91 740 E Brake

My ebrake has quite a bit of tension.... but car will still completely move when ebrake is on full lock. How can I fix this problem/where do I start. BTW: the car has 318k miles.

If it looked anything like my 240 did when I did the rear brakes last week, the linings are either completely worn off or the shoes have fallen apart.

What do you mean when you say "completely move"? How are you moving it for example?

If it is any thing like my 89 745 the rear shoes came unglued like billkaz stated above they "fell apart".

I don't know if the axles are "wet" on these cars but if they are and the axle seal or wheel bearing fail oil could get inside and lubricate the assembly. Just a thought.

Either way yank off the disk/drum and check condition.
