Default Sachs vs Bilstein

What's the better choice between Boge/Sachs and Bilstein shocks for a 1990 Volvo DL? KYB is out of the option for me. Would appreciate it if anyone could point out any existing discussion about this.

Front, back or both?

What sort of use - a comfortable ride? Good cornering performance, and if so - pavement or dirt?

Which Volvo do you have, and is it stock height?

Boge/Sachs is questionable at best lately with their stuff...Bilstein Touring are a nice ride if you want to stay stock height. YMMV

I have the humorously named Bilstein "HDs" on my 88 245 wag-goon with stock srings..
I build serious competition suspension for a living and I say..Great set up..Good ride, acceptable handling..

That's your teeter totter: ride vs handling..

Nice to know also they'll outlast the car.

Why are the KYB's out of question? The Gas-A-Just rear shocks on my 88 765 are at least 12 years old. I have another pair sitting in the closet in case I ever need them.
