Update: I have read the thread Dana answered questions on, but figured asking you guys to see if any "advancements" have been made since then one way or another.

OK guys, the only reason I ask this is because through my searches for the past 2 hours on turbobricks and on the web, I get conflicting viewpoints:

What's the best option for my intercooled b21ft which will be running around 12 - 14 psi? BOV or CBV? Which would yield better response, which would be louder?

Thank you for your time, and apologize in advance for "that same ****in' question again"

Don't cut em off... I tried searching. Made me even more confused.

From what I can gather, a BOV -MIGHT- be better due to no AMM, but still, I hear people saying they had issues.

I'd like it "semi-loud" with the least potential for stalling or other issues. What are some types / brands under $100 suggested for my application?

(I've got a 20% off coupon with eBay, and I'd like to buy one from there... if possible, point me to a good item)

Grateful they are still hanging, -
Rod

BOV will always be louder because it vents to the atmosphere.

i wouldn't skimp on generic brand BOV's because they might leak, not hold boost, and not last as long.

CBV's wont be as loud but i like them better because it wont rich spike when the air is vented.

i know of some people who have had thier engines run pig rich to the point where they stall after a vent.

i would get a CBV..

I'm getting this one..which is a forge.

what year is your car?

it's not that a BOV will be better on a car without an AMM, it's cars with no AMMs run BOVs better than cars with AMMS.

What size is the outside diameter of the ic cold pipe on my 82? Maybe I should get off my ass and measure it =)

bov's on k-jet should be fine. It'd be pretty damn hard to get the bov in after the metering plate. Isnt there an article about bov's on k-jet?

bov, kjet, good to go....bah, im startin to hate my forge twin piston BOV....the bitch still causes some audible surging w my giant comp wheel...

Another advantage of CBV is that it keeps the turbo wheel spinning while venting pressure, making it easier and faster to build up pressure again (i.e. useful when shifting).

I ran a bov on my KJET car and it was terrible, it was a knock off though. That thing was open at idle, and my driveability was terrible.

I would recommend a CBV, like a bosch 004

You want that air back into the system, because KJET AND b21S DO NOT LIKE DUMPING FUEL INTO THE CYLS BECAUSE A BOV BLEW OFF ALL THAT METERED AIR!

my sh!t spiked super rich and it totally SUCKED

oh, and you need to get an AIM account and use www.pidgin.im

No. Bosch 007 is the one that is desireable. (Comes stock on the cars in the VAG group such as VW, Audi, Skoda, Porsche)

Hold up sons... In reality, if I leave the exhaust port on the CBV disconnected, it will in essence be a blow off valve, correct? I mean whats the difference?!?
