Is there any problem with pulling the wastegate housing from a oil-cooled T3 taken from an 84 760 and using the housing on a T3 oil/water cooled turbo taken from an 85 242?
My problem is that the 85 oil/water cooled unit has two broken studs in the wastegate housing, the ones that hold the downpipe. The studs on the other turbo are all intact. I thought it might be a lot easier to swap the wastegate housings rather than dig out the broken rusted-in studs. Can this be done easily? Any advice or precautions?
