Hello everyone. i recently bought a 1982 volvo 240 dl with the quad rectangle headlights, 1982 grill and the non-flat hood. I was wanting to switch it to a flat hood, an earlier type of grill and double single 7" headlights. Does anyone know of any place that can help me out with this, or if anyone would sell me their spare set?

I dont know if you have to swap the fender too? this is similar to what i have right now.

This is what i want.

Nope fenders are the same 75-85, with small differences in the holes for the bumper filler trim, and badges till 79.

You do need the flat hood however for the flathood 7" round front end to be correct.

you dont have that chrome piece that goes around the grill do you? On the top and bottom?

That's a different setup the Late Flathood Grill Set.

Unless you're talking about the stainless grill surround trim that attaches to the body?

oh okay. I didnt know that there was a different grill with and without the chrome around it. Do you have a set with the chrome around the grill like in the picture that you sent, and how much

That's a 1978 one year only setup, [ & till 80 on the 242's] and pretty rare now.

Late flathood grill sets are $320-$350 shipped -conus- [depending on condition] when I have them.

okay, but that flathood grill with the chrome around the grill will fit my 82 240 dl, or not? if not, the flathood grill without the chrome will work for me.

Yes both styles will work, but neither will look right with the formal hood on your car now.

BTW you need to fix your PM preferences.

Isn't there an issue on the 86+ cars with the cowl on the hood not matching up with the 85- hoods, regardless of coffin hood or flathood?
Not that we're talking about this here, in this particular instance.

75-85 cars fenders, hoods and cowls will line up. Grilles need to match hoods for better looks. If you have an 86+ car and want to change over to pre- 85 you will have issues. Also IIRC the radiatorr support on 8+ cars is welded together, not individual pieces like the earlier ones, so you have another issue.
