Why did you choose the n/a version of the bushing? With the HP you have I think I would have chosen the beefier turbo bushes.

However I did use those pictured on my n/a 240. I think it helps keep from lifting the inside tire on turns a tad.

But PO had the turbo bushes in mine before I changed them.

AFAIK there is not a separate part number for turbo models. The older versions of these bushings had the metal inserts in them, but those have been phased out.

You mean the metal yours has in the middle, the sleeve?

The ones in my '79 axle look like this. Good shape, so I didn't change them. It's in the autocrosser like that now.

Never heard of a "Turbo" or otherwise upgraded Volvo-branded bushing for the axle.

I wasn't aware the turbo style bushes were NLA

Mine were different from those ^ I was told by PO they were Volvo 240 turbo style bushes

Pic of my old ones I removed. (scroll down a little for several different pics of them) http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=203083&page=6&highlight=smokeyfan1000

only 1 bushing for all 240s.

JUst saying that counting Homer's original pic, seems there were 3 different styles over the years.............I suppose the new ones have superceeded the old ones..........

Well I'm glad we got that cleared up. I was freaking out.

Maybe they were just 3 different iterations of same part over 20+ years of 240 production?

I do think the ones I removed would hold up better/last longer under heavy loading, but flex less on turns.:e-shrug:.

I apologize if I disrupted your thread..

Thanks for the cleanup mr. towery.
Pulled the rear muffler to see how it was holding up. You can see in this black abyss, a more detailed view on how I made the muffler innards.
Aluminum perf sheet stitched together with stainless safety wire. I wrapped that in fiberglass mesh tape to help keep more of the fiberglass packing in. Looks like it's doing its job.

Alright. These Kaplhenke quick steer roll correction spacers are the bees knees. Best $300 I've spent on this car in a long while. So much more than just quicker steering.
