Hey Guys,

Still in the process of modding my 89 740T. I recently picked up a 16T Turbo, manifold, 3 inch downpipe and fuel injectors to add some HP to the bad boy.

In the meantime, I'm looking for a roof rack and mudflaps for the car. Any ideas? Roof racks that attach to the rain gutter are becoming increasingly hard to come by

My 1990 wagon came with a set of Yakima racks, with the option for loading a canoe,it so happens that we have one. Take them off and you have no wind drag. Brought lots of stuff home from the box stores.

These are the cheapest I could find, and so far it’s been great! I’ve had like three pallets on there at a time ratchet strapped down without a problem. My biggest issue so far is the “hoops” on the end of the bars. It looks like a good strap point, but start deforming as soon as a small amount of pressure is applied.

I ended up throwing this up on top just a couple weeks ago. It’s a pretty solid unit. I am noticing some rusting coming through already, so I would maybe throw a coat of clear coat on it before installation. The biggest downside to this basket was the clamps that hold it to the bars. I ended up getting them to work when it was all said and done, and none of the clamps contact the roof (challenging to do with the clamps provided). I’ve had a leaf blower, chainsaw, and two gas tanks up top without any problems, so for the price you can’t beat it. It’s very quiet also.

Hope this helps
