For the last week my oil pressure light on my 88 765 TI has been flickering at idle. Tonight I checked with a bright flashlight and found the connector broken off the sender wire with the wire end touching the oil filter adapter housing.

Happened to me on both of my 240s. One stopped working completely which was scary, the other started flickering. I thought for sure I'd be dropping the pan and replacing the transfer tube orings.

By the way, i bought a new oil pressure sending unit connector from Dave Barton. Spliced it in and its as good as new. Looks great.

Plugged the wire back in and now it stays on all the time. Thank goodness!
/what's that knocking noise

I had a 140 that was like that! On Seattle International Raceway (Long before the name change) for every big turn the oil light would illuminate with accompanying rattle. Added an extra quart of 50 weight, unplugged that pesky sender and enjoyed the rattle through turns with biggest G-loads.
Poor thing soldierd on until replaced by the 262. My but the time flies.
