Default Bagged 740 16v Turbo

Hello from Finland. Someone can remember my old project, bagged 940.

One years ago, I bought orginal 740 facelift to daily use.

Here is photo when I bought it. Orginal 16v GLT and aw72 transmission.

Firts summer I drove with stock engine, but I got it 17" OZ Cygnus wheels with 185/35R17 tyres.

And bags to car...

When summer was over, car get go to garage and engine update start.

Orginal b234f to out.

I use b230fb block.

Clean and new paint....

Pistons from b230ft. I made valve hollows. I made special tool from old 16v intake valve...

Timing belt is 147 tooth from opel.

Oil pressure line to turbo.

Its go to back with aw72, but later I did manual swap.

Intake manifold painted. Throttlebody come from 850 t5, because I need linerial TPS sensor to megasquirt.

Surge tank from china and bosch 044 type "replica" pump.

Megasquirt wires done.

Were those oz cygnus 5x108? And your setup looks pretty good. How many pounds of boost?

Wow, those three spokes with basically no tyre were hideous. Glad they are gone. If they at least had a decent sidewall they would have been bearable to look at.

However. Awesome work on the 16v +t! And the porsche rims look good!

Bump for these two photos, pretty epic DIY there :-)

I'm planning to hone and use B234F pistons in my lower power build. I'm hoping they have the same pin height etc. Will know for sure first hand by the end of the weekend.

Any chance of fixing the photobucket images?

A very rough home made valve pocket cutting tool presumably using a B234F head and stock guide as a bearing/alignment tool. Like what YoshiFab rents out, but Ghetto spec. Love it.
