Powersteering lighter turning left?

In my new '82 240 diesel the powersteering is significantly lighter turning left vs turning right. Going backwards it feels like the wheel wants to turn to the left. Fluid looked fine. Feels fine otherwise.
 
The CAM rack has an adjustment to balance the left/right pressure but if this is a developing problem it is an indication of a worn rack. The GreenBook on steering racks has the information on making the adjustment.
