Hey, my friend has a 1994 850 N/A.

When he revs hard in first gear the engine skips starting at about 3000 rpm's.
I told him it is most likely the clutch but he dosent belive me. Does anyone know what else would cause a skip like that.

Thanks,

Ben

i would venture to say you need a set of spark plugs. i would go to the dealer and get OEM spark plugs, they are worth it.

chances are, if the clutch is really slipping at 3000 rpm, you are going to smell it, if you can't smell any foul clutch stink, it's probably not slipping.

the description you give is pretty vague, more info would be helpful.

A failing clutch usually slips smoothly, not "skipping". Far more likely needs a tune up or something is dying in the fuel system. FPR, pump, some sensor somewhere, etc.

yea, plugs-wires-cap-rotor, DEALER PARTS - too many halfa**'d experiences in past to not use anything less. fuel too, of course, maybe ign. coil too?
