Default 140 Bilstein HD LCA modification

Read a review on IPD after buying a set pf HD’s.

It read: “installed these on my lowered 69 144s with great results. everything has improved. from braking to freeway driving. you do have to enlarge the lower A-arm shock hole. i love the larger upper mount bushings. almost twice the surface area. these are designed for larger american cars but work out well. i cant speak for a stock height car but they dont feel too stiff for my car”

What is this modification? Does my 71 with the 70-up arms need this? Pictures?

Yep. Just buy them and you'll see. I think I used an electric grinder of some sort.

The opening in the lower A-arm has to be slightly enlarged so the shock tube goes through without scratching the paint.
