wrapping it up:

theres is litterally no differences in the wiring between an M46 car and an AW71 car.

and the problem in my particular case was: exchanged the wrong relay... I thought the relay was white for aw71 and blue for m46... dammit.

Last question: is the OD light supposed to come on when the transmission shifts into OD? and go out again when it goes out of od?

Just the opposite. You should see the arrow when it is locked out of OD, telling you to "up shift".

Not quite. The state of the light does not change as the transmission shifts. The light comes on when the solenoid is closed and locking out OD.

Happy to hear you have it working properly. I'm doing the same thing with my 780 Coupe soon. AW-71 to an AW-71L. I do like how quiet the cars are when they run in lock up mode.

780 huh... Very very nice car.

Yeah I was surprised how it feels when it locks up. Unfortunately I got 3.31 and a little too big tire diameter. So it won't lock up until 60-ish.

I think it's because ,most here remove the auto trans, and install M46 ,M47 or other manual trans.

Hehe oh makes sense. I know. It's kind of backwards. In Europe we got no automatics, it's all m47 and m90.

Yeah I now:-) don't mean to rub it in. Any 1995 and on 944/945 is m90 in Denmark. And that means 90% of the 900 used car market.
