Default Volvo 240 - rubber skirt on top of rear bumper

I need to remove the rubber skirt that is on top of the rear bumper of my 1982 240T.

I can see that it is attached at the sides by clips. I don't want to break them, and they will likely be brittle. Any ideas how to remove safely?

Lubricate the rubber nubs with dish soap or something slippery so they come out with the least amount of effort but there's still a good chance they're gonna break off. Don't forget the nuts holding it on in the corners.

I do not have rubber nuts on my car, I have plastic clips at either side of the bumper..
