Time for a little update. Got my wheels worked out, and heres a little test fit

Surprisingly, they fit really well, next to no rubbing at full lock without spacers. If I adjust the steering locks all the way I end up with maybe a mm of rub on the sway bar with a 245/40/17 tire.

Just before IPD I got the motor in and everything going back together.

and with tires mounted, I really like the way these 17's fill out the wheel wells.

After a ~90 mile shake down, everything seemed ok until the next day. Had some nasty knocking and decided not to drive it to IPD.

So back in the garage it went, and after pulling apart everything, I found the problem. I appearently didn't go all the way through the proper torque sequencing when torquing my main caps, and in my haste I put it together. When I opened it up, I had one cap bolt loose in the oil pan, and all the others were somewhat loose as well. Since I dont know exactly what I was thinking or how I missed it, I had my torque wrench calibrated, and reinstalled everything. I need to get a whiteboard in the new garage so I dont miss stupid things like that...

Anyway it is almost back together, on the list for tonight is to fill it with fluids, burp the radiator, resistor pack delete, and take it for a spin. I might install my new to me turn signal switch it I have time.
New motor specs:
6 bolt B20
Crank ground .010/.010
Bored .030 over, new cast pistons
Decked .030, pistons flush, giving me a final piston to head clearance of .030
Head is a B20 F head, mildly ported, double springs, static CR is ~9.5:1
K cam, summit lifters (IPD style) cromo tube pushrods
MS1 on a 36-1 front pulley trigger, single coil, 315cc/min browns running at 3 bar with vac disconnected (this will probably get an upgrade to MS2 and LS coils with a cam pickup in a gutted dizzy)
