Nice progress, it must be a relief to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The new color is great.

That'll leave a spot on the paint.

It’s that time of year. Time for shameless self promotion. If you guys have a minute, jump over to iPd’s blog and vote on cool pics of cool cars. Doesn’t have to be mine

I think that's why he worked so much on it over the past month: to get it ready for IPD.

It’ll be at iPd for sure. There’s a possibility I don’t get quite as much completed as I’d like. Either way, I tried.

You remind me of my pal Rod Emory in a lot of ways. He's currently do pretty much the same song and dance you are but he has even less time but luckily a small team including his family to help out.

Not much in the way of big steps, but it’s getting down to the wire, so if I can just get a couple things done each day, I’ll probably make it?

I think tomorrow after work I can get the taillights, mid windows and side markers in. Then it’ll be all sealed up again.

Trailer hitch
New exhaust turn down
Something with the bumpers
Re-upholster the lower door interior surrounds
De-burr and paint custom cowl mesh
Straighten and polish side moldings
Cut new kick panel speaker rings
Make interior visors
Make rear headliner clamp
Paint rear license plate holder
Re-black front wheel well and bottom of rockers
Fabricate new air dam
Thereís probably more

My iPd airdam has been cut to within an inch of its life and I never liked how much I had to trim it to use it AND a front bumper so I made my own. Also added some built in oil cooler clearance a la Porsche 911 RSR (not that close, but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it). Probably the heaviest mold I’ve ever made. 7” thick worth of 3/4” MDF cut to 6’ x 1’ I missed taking photos of a couple steps and I’m pretty sure the GoPro locked up and didn’t record any of it. Oh well. The flares on the edges look a bit extreme, but I’m thinking once the bumper is back on it might not look that bad.

I bet you could get a small intercooler in there too.

Also, were these always color matched on the wagons?

Every one I've ever seen has been color matched.

Let me show you a magic trick. How to make a freshly minted airdam disappear...............poof

I know, sure isn’t much to see. But it fits better, it’s stronger and when I eventually get around to trimming out the license opening to allow more airflow, it’ll look better then.

I went back in your thread to look at the first one, and couldn't see the value of re-doing it but man, that came out great. I love the subtle lip underneath the bumper.

Have fun at IPD this weekend, no one can say you don't deserve a relaxing weekend around cars.
