Hi everyone!
I just bought a '88 Volvo 240 with a serious issue: it has a few rusty spots preventing it from passing the inspection.
I realize that Volvos don't rust that much and not many of you had to deal with rust, but I'll ask around anyway, maybe someone had encountered this problem.
View from inside the trunk:
Normally you couldn't fit a screwdriver in there, those sheets are welded together.
I have a few questions: do you think it's doable by a beginer welder? I have never held a welder in my life, but I learn fast and there is no rush. I do all kinds of repairs on my cars, timing, cam replacement, etc. just never had to weld before, so I don't know where and how to start.
How would you go about fixing these holes? Patching it up or cutting out and replacing the panels?
Thanks!
Boris
