Default Coolant leaking in driver's footwell

So I got my engine swap running (b230 into my 76 245, I've had a few other threads about the swap), but as I was buttoning everything up tonight, I noticed some coolant pooling on the garage floor, dripping from the driver's side control arm rear mount. I shined the shop light under the carne saw it was coming from a floorpan drain. So I pulled the plastic mat out and peeled back the carpet, and of course found a nice puddle of coolant on the driver's floorboard. The carpet was pretty soaked as well. I looked around and noticed that the coolant was seeping from between the pedal panel and the firewall. The passenger side looked dry.

Would this be from a loose heater hose connection at the firewall, or something inside the cabin? Any recommendations on the best way to fix?

If it's internal, it's gotta be the heater core, or the associated hoses. How much pressure did the system have? I had too much in mine once (crappy aftermarket cap seized and didn't let out pressure) and that's what blew up my old heater core.

I pulled the firewall connector where both the engine and interior hoses connect and found them severely corroded but not leaking. That and the associated hoses and clamps would be the first suspects before ripping the heater core out.

Yeah, definitely don't want to jump into a heater core replacement.

Is that pic of the "severely corroded" connector, or the replacement for it?

The pic is of a severely cleaned up fitting. You can see some places that were not cleaned better due to concerns about polishing a hole in the metal. There was crunchy crud between the fitting and the hose and certainly an opportunity to weep.

Was it difficult to remove the fitting? Can it be done without removing the dash?

Fitting is two Phillips screws on the engine side and the hose clamps inside and out.

Heater valve is cramped but a lot less time than a core.

Probably just a hose connection a that junction making coolant run in.

Heater cores can and do go bad but usually you smell it and have it all over the Winshield if you ever run the heat and they often leak fairly slowly.

I'm going to try to look into this issue more this evening. Hoping it's a fairly straightforward and simple fix.
