Default 240 A/C Compressor Compatibility

80 245 with a 89 b230ft and the accessories are all 240 style/setup. The power steering pump is above the ac compressor. Pulley on the ac compressor pulley failed and the belt twisted eliminating the power steering. Future plans are to swap to 93+ AC. My question is will an AC compressor from a 94 940 fit my 89 b230ft with the setup I have? Or do I have to get a compressor from a 240? I'd like for the belts to line up properly as opposed to being ghetto rigged and crooked. JY 94 940 has an immaculate b230ft is specifically why I ask. Thanks

The 940 compressor is the same compressor used on a 1993 240 with the R-134 AC system. Therefore, yes, it will fit and line up.

93-Up 940 Compressor is the same, but the pulley is larger then the 93 240 AC Comp.

No, it isn't. I have at least 5 940 compressors and 4 240 compressors and the pulley is the same on all of them.

All 4 of my '93 240's have a smaller pulley than the 940 '93+ compressors I've compared them to FWIW.
Different Volvo part numbers as well.

That sounds like Volvo. I have never encountered one with a different size pulley yet in over 100+ cars. 15A sees some big differences in the 940 AC systems back east that we never get out here as well. It may be a regional thing.

Obviously Georgia cars needed the smaller pulleys so as to spin the compressor faster since it's hotter here than in the Northwest.

The two 93 240 AC Compressors both have smaller pulleys, the 93 requires a smaller AC belt as well.

I put a 95 940 Comp on a 1993 240 and had to use the older 92- size belts.
