26 months later... it's in my garage again. Hatch is still at the body shop along with therotisseriee, I'll get those in the next couple days.

Insanely excited!! It's funny, my plans have drifted so much since I started. Don't have the C30 or the V50 any more (now an xc90 and v60), doesn't have to be quite as practical. Still going to have AC and such but maybe the new G30 series turbo. The motor went from mild build to CNC ported head, 270* cams, closed deck, 9:1 forged pistons from Josh etc. Should be fun but typical scope creep for something going on 6.5 years now. LOL

Hope you can start putting it all back together soon! What coilovers do you have for it?

I hope you have better luck than me with them. Mine sat on a shelf for 3-4 months after I got them from the UK and they had seized up. Took a trip to a motorcycle shop to free them up.

Not a ton of free time but I've been working on sorting and refinding where I put everything thru the house move and the 4 years it's been blown apart.

First, this is how much time has passed:

Which is crazy right?!

Anyways, its looking quite nice in the garage

Since this photo the rear glass is in and the hatch is back on.

Wanted to work on an easy project. I really love the roof rack but all the discussion about the 140 style wood rail roof racks and so I thought maybe I can try my own hand it.

Started with disassembling the rails:

Then I bought a dovetail cutter to mimic the way they mount from the factory

Ended using some thermo-treated maple I had for another project. This has become popular in architectural millwork as the thermo treating basically makes it impervious to the elements.

Dovetails cut

shot some finish on the rails and then snapped them back on the slats. I added a dab of silicone for insurance.

Laser cut fresh gaskets since I couldn't find replacements anywhere online (and cause I could). I also used some PSA backed rubber to line the bottom of the wood rails

There we go! Kind of a fun easy project. This is our crazy season so it's unlikely I'll get a bunch of time to do more than other little quick weekend projects. I'm still looking for stuff I know I've bought over the last few years but can't seem to find. I know I had a nice set of tail lights in a box, can't find the little vent for the side things like that. They'll turn up.

Window guides and weather strips are not in great shape, looks like VPauto is maybe the best bet for that stuff?

Good news is the machine shop says the head is done. CNC ported, 272* cams and better springs. Stuck with stock sized valves for this one though. Hopefully can get the block wrapped up and start looking at early next year to reassemble.

and a repost just cause so freaking cool.

That's a very nice head you got there! I'm kinda sad I lost the wooden box I sent it in though!

This is sure to be another incredible 245! Kids do grow up too damn fast, fun to see them in the Volvo I bet. The roof rack looks fantastic!

Me too! I just hope I’m still young enough to drive it

Hopefully next year we will see it start to pick up pace. I just bought another 90k dollar machine for the shop so that kind of eats the budget up for a while.

sorry realized I think I've already asked you that. Larry's posted some videos of them working on whiteblocks last week, seems like they were probably yours!
