Default hood is stuck fml

so i was smart enough to take my grille off just incase the hood got stuck that i just put on.(just put a flathood on) an its stuck. i am stumped it absolutely wont open. any tricks without damage to my new hood?

push down while trying to actuate the release lever. or just get a chop saw and cut that section of the hood out where the release is :P

Should be able to reach the release mechanism (where the cable pulls) and tug on it with something a bit more substantial. You might ruin your hood latch though.

How hard did you slam it? Geez...

yessssss i got it, thanks guys. i ended up being able to hit the latch attacked to the hood with a flat head an hammer hard enough for it to slide over an fix the bad alignment an it popped up woo woo!

If you get it stuck again, and can't get it loose by doing the hammer & screwdriver trick, insert a 12mm box end wrench through the two round holes in the upper tie bar on either side of the horn post. It takes time, but you can loosen the bolts that hold the catch to the hood itself, and get the hood open. Done that a couple times... Most recently, on my 245T, after I installed a replacement ripplehood all by my lonesome... :-)
