Hi chaps,
fitted my board today but have run into problems. Car started fine and idled for 10 minutes but started dropping cylinders intermittently running on 2 then back to 4 then back to 2. Checked the wiring about a dozen times and its all fine with good connections. The only thing I noticed was the ignition module (J702T) got very hot to the point I couldn't touch the heat sink. What would cause the module to get so hot? Have just bought another one but would like not to melt this one to. Have put it all back to stock and car runs fine (using the same wiring) Coils are Bosch 2x2 ones that other people have used in this thread. So I'm trying to figure out where the problem is.

Any help would be appreciated.

Okay. I you get this right, I'll buy a few of them... I will get my b5244t engine ready for my 245 before the summer.... Would have been nice to test it on that.

I have had no shortage of people offering to test a whiteblock COP board. The main problem is that I don't know anyone local with a suitable car to to do initial testing on. I can't just send these out, completely untested, and hope for the best. I need to be sitting in the car with a computer and a debugger. The other thing is I don't feel like working on this project right now, so I don't.

I changed some of the components and layout, but there's no functional difference. The new ones are also black instead of green.
