The seats (front and back) in my 1972 142 are all ripped and need replacement skins, but I'm having troubles finding any. I've looked at the usual sites (VP, Skandix etc., no luck).

Anybody know if someone sells them or do I simply need to get them to an upholsterer and be done with it?

Thanks.

I couldn't find them either for a '71 164 and that was a number of years ago. Had a set made and installed which probably looked better than if I had done it myself with a mail order set.

Thanks, I found these too in my search. But are the seats in a 72 142 really the same as in a 164?

I'm a bit confused and read somewhere that the 164 seat skins only fit 142GL models (I have a DL), is this true?

Also don't really want leather, just some nice cloth.

Of course the quality is superior getting them made professionally by an upholsterer, but I'm just feeling if there is even anything out there.

So the seats themselves are the same, it's just the skins?

Mine has blue fabric seats, code 656-772
