Mr.Borrie?s 780 1986 Diesel

Snapped this one just now, kinda cool how the lines of the car are

The petrol engine is now registered and checked by the gouvernement.
First drive with it since the swap. Few things i noticed

Noisy flywheel bearing
When i let off the gas big gray cloud from the exhaust
Oil in the enginebay.
Stuttering engine (but that was low fuel i think, was running on fumes)

The PO of the B230fk mentioned oil leaks so i think replace/clean flame trap and Some thicker oil.
Still a whole bunch of odds and ends till perfection but feels good the swap is apporved

Did a little check, at startup huge clouds again.
The PO said Some leaks at the engine and i suspected the PVC.
The actuator at the turbo was loose too.

I guess the engine having boost again really shows the pvc glogs.
The intake hose with oil and non at the turbo side confirms this.
Engine runs great otherwise. So time for a pvc job, perhaps a catchtank too?

Cleaned out the intercooler, PVC and lines. Still the car smokes like crazy.
Smoke also coming out of the oil filler cap when removed and the dipstick.
The engine was leaky when i got it, drove it around just fine no smoke at all so i am at a loss why the sudden smoke problems.

Besides that been tinkering with the wiring connecting the cluster, now got the tach working and replaced some bulbs. also removed the EGR stuff as a 86 car does not need that here to pass inspection

Still this sucks as this way there is no way i can get it passed inspection with the clouds of gray smoke

Clouds at idle and when you let off the gas?
Did you check the turbo itself? Did you change the fuel filter? Maybe that has got some crap in it.

Yeah the dumpvalve and intercooler where full with oil and the pvc was glogged.
Big clouds when let off the gas. Have not driven the car het cause off the smoke it now makes at idle.

Just went in the garage and i do feel like there still is a diesel sort of smell.. not sure.

Checked the turbo and no real play, most of the oil was on the intake side not the turbo side

Replaced the oil and filter. Pvc and intercooler are now clean.
Replaced the sparkplugs, one near the firewall was gray/brown with white deposit.
Put in the new interior too so i get Some more garage space.

Did a conpression and the nr4 had 11 bar all the others 10 bar.

Still getting Some smoke from the dipstick hole. And Made a new video of the exhaust...
I think it must be the turbo at this point..?

Does it smell like fuel? > maybe pissing injector.
Or the oildrain of the turbo does not work.

I was thinking this at one point as the oil was so thin, hence the replacement.
But how would that result in the smoke i am seeing now?

Oil return could very well be full to come to think of it looking at how the pvc was.
Neglected engine is neglected, still it was free so no complaints

I once had a continuous spraying injector in a volvo 850. Result it ran on 4 cilinders. And the not burnt fuel left the exhaust as a whitegrey pufs.

Injectors swapped, no change.

Car starts up with no smoke at all, within one minute it starts to smoke from little to big constant clouds

My guess whas turbo at this point too.. i think it can still go for another round yes? :)

There is another 13c i had on the shelf in there now. Just need to do the returnline. I hate doing those and it was already late, this weekend perhaps she Will spin again

Replaced the turbo, changed the oil again (had a fuel smell to it again)
Still smoke, had it run for a while and now smoke and water from the exhaust..
seems like the coolaint level went down too, small smudge to the fillercap..

I am going to set this car on fire!

Somehow lost the reverse light wiring. Redid the wiring from the fusebox to the switch and back.
Got the Black wire that Goes to the light.. just need to find it!
