Default SRS light, no codes

Got a 1996 850 (no under hood diag. port) in the shop, with an SRS light on. No codes stored in the module, tried a reset anyhow, no avail. Looked at all the measuring blocks with the scanner, and they all show everything to be OK. Any idea why this could be? Could it be a problem with the cluster itself, or the SRS module? It's a 10V engine with the FENIX injection, if that makes a difference to anyone.
