Hey everyone,

I'm getting ready to purchase high performance all season tires for my 240. I have aftermarket wheels that are 16x7. I had a set of tires that were 205 55 16, but is that correct, or should they be 50 for the side wall height?

On mine, for street use, I'd even go 215/55-16, for a 25.3" diameter, and 205/55-16 is about 24.9" diameter.
I'm guessing your shopping for street use tires, since you do state "high performance all season."

205/50/16 will look short unless the car is lowered.

205/55/16 fit well and look better if the car isn't lowered (much)
These are 205/55/16:

I'm currently using 225/50/16 on 16x7 Galaxy wheels on this same 240. I prefer this size for a bit more rubber. I've rolled the fender lips in the rear, just above the mudflap, and they fit fine. Although they will rub the inside rear going up uneven driveways.

Ok awesome. Im having the rubbing issue now but need to get spacers since the wheels dont have the correct offset. I thought 205 50 16s qould help a little. I have ipd lowering sprongs and bilstein hd shocks /struts

Thanks. I too getting ready to run some 16” gremlins on my 93 245 but planning to haul crap and thinking about IPD overload spring rather than lowering.. same recommendation?

Is you wagon lowered? It doesn't look lowered to me but I could be wrong. 205/50 works really when the car is lowered.

Yep. I'm not sure how much because I honestly don't remember how tall it was stock. I think it's around 1.5" lower than stock. Distance from the ground to the lower control arm bolt (front) is 7 1/4", if that helps.
