Question 240 Gauge Cluster on and off working.

My gauge cluster on my 93 240 works on and off yet the turn signals work all the time. The cluster not working is a problem because the ignitor wire for the alternator is hooked up to the gauge cluster so if the cluster doesn’t work the alternator doesn’t work. Does anyone know what’s wrong or how to fix this?

The instrument cluster and alternator charge light get power from fuse twelve when you turn on the key. So check the fuse box. If you have the crappy pot metal fuses be sure to remove it to check it. They can look fine in place an be open.

Failing gauges is an indicator of a failing alternator.
