Default Fog light placement

I've got a 78 242 with commando bumpers. I've picked up a set of the Bosch rectangular fog lights that have mounting brackets attached (single post w/adjustment for angle).

I've seen fog lights on a 240 mounted in the grille (GT style), above the bumper and below the bumper in front of the air dam (drilling will be required in either case).

What's the preferred location and is there a recommended distance between them?
Thanks,
Bruce

Thanks very much to both of you. I think I can take it from here.
