aw71 air cooler

Hello,
I own a 98' volvo 940 with b230ft and aw71.
It is alittle moddifed - bosch 968 injectors, 012 MAF, boosting 15 psi on stock turbo, and some more little things.

I saw that it is very recommended to add an external cooler to the gearbox, my question is - wont it somtimes cool the oil too much?
Lets saying you're going 110kph on the highway wont the oil get to a lower temp then working temp? with the stock radiator cooler the engine is making extra heat and may keep the tranny oil at working temp...
I guess i'm wrong lol but can someone please explain it to me?
maybe the tranny have some kind of thermostat?

You could send the oil through the air cooler first, and then through the radiator if you're worried about it getting too cool.

I did just that on my car and it works great.

Doesn't it make the cooler abit redundant then?
I dont know how hot the tranny oil gets tho

It works great on my car. The ATF stays clear red and don?t overheat.
