The pump doesn't run on lh2.2 unless there's a signal from the distributor, it doesn't prime like lh2.4 at key on.

But... it will light a test light.
And, the multimeter can detect this in resistance mode
There is no need to bypass s*** when you know how to use a wiring diagram and a <strike>test lamp</strike> multimeter.
A <strike>meter</strike> test light is NOT the best tool for the job.
Have you tried temporarily bypassing the main fuel pump relay using a jumper?
Or, you could do a voltage drop test on the wiring and a resistance test on the pump
A higher wattage bulb would be helpful. That little 3w bulb will light up on one strand.
But do this how you please. I just can't understand Zach's aversion to using a meter. I've had zero problems doing so for nearly twenty years.
Bypassing the relay will tell if the ECM is not grounding the relay.
There is a fuel pump fuse, right? 10 seconds with a test lamp back probing the fuse would be where I would start.
I diagnosed a crank-no start in 10 minutes this weekend with a can of brake cleaner and a test lamp. It ran on brake cleaner so I went right for the fuel pump fuse and found no current to it. Then I found a melted fuel pump relay terminal. Done.
