Aw drain plug

Are these a one shot deal? I took three out and the threads look like hell...but the threads on the Pan look good anybody Elkhart?
 
Ian I guess my question is are they a one time use thing? All the of the oil pans I have here the threads mangled themselves like the bolt itself is soft and is part of the sealing process and thank you for the links
 
the crush washer is one-time. the plug is multi-use.
the threads should not be damaged unless they're being cross-threaded upon install.
get a thread chaser and clean up the threads on the pan.
 
Because it's at the lowest point, when the trans leaks the tendency is to blame the drain plug. This usually results in the plug being over tightened which damages the threads.
