Default Adding bluetooth to 2001 v70?

Anyone have experience with one of these kits?

I've looked through some option to install an aux port which would also work fine for me since I currently use this dongle thing in my truck and to be honest, it works fantastic.

That looks like a pretty clean unit. Wish it had a photo of the back so we could see how many/if it has preamp outputs. Might be garbage for audio quality at 6w output..

I used the GROM that iPd sells in my 850R before swapping the factory HU out for a bluetooth touchscreen. GROM worked pretty well but I'm not sure if I should have placed the BT receiver so close to the firewall (behind ashtray). If I didn't have the volume up very loud I could definitely detect some ignition interference using the bluetooth dongle to stream spotify.

Yeah i did some reading and gave up on trying to mess with this stock HU-613 system. Its just too old and basic. I'm going to just install a new modern head unit and get the kits for linking the steering controls and stuff to it so its integrated. I dunno seems pretty straight forward stereo install except for that caveat that you need to ditch the stock head unit and amp.

Yeah I can appreciate that the HU is a dinosaur by today's standards and really doesn't have any cool features, however they were well made with excellent components for their time. I think alpine made the internals for a lot of old Volvo radios.

I forgot that I'd actually ordered an adapter kit with the GROM which utilizes the factory amplifier port and gives front and rear preamp outputs for running an external amp when I was still set on retaining the factory SC-815(?). I'm not sure if there is a GROM or equivalent that would work with the P1/P2 cars though..

Amp adapter:

The idea was to retain the factory radio but have it set up for wireless so every time I hop in I just hit spotify and go, I was gonna use a 4 channel amp for the door speakers and tap the rear speaker wiring for a signal to a separate sub amp.

Of course all of this went out the window and I just put a touchscreen Kenwood in instead which was a way less complicated option.

For someone that wanted to keep the all-stock look going and really improve their sound system. The adapter kit and GROM would be a pretty good (albeit pricey) way to go.

Just info for anyone perusing the showroom about audio stuff..
