242 c63 amg v8

Why not quit messing around? The drive train runs you a whopping 10k easy, even on an insurance buy-out

I already have the Engine, i got a good deal on a wreck.

Ive machined a bell housing and flywheel to mate up the engine and transmission,

These are some pics midway through making the bell housing.

This is the motor im using, Hand built by philipp Kircher in the fatherland (2010-11)

The pictures are after the first session of machining,
Its finished now and bolted to the trans.
Need to machine the flywheel down to take some weight out of it as it is quite big and heavy at the minute.

I cant find anyone in the world, who has put a manual box on a c63 engine, so no reference points, it is all trial and no room for error, :oogle:

Uh oh!!!^^^^ I lost my reply. Drinking in a parking lot.

The mega squirt is on the current 4.0 v8 turbo c63 like this 2015 model.

Mine is a 2011 6.3 litre v8 naturally aspirated like this

Should look good in the 242

Pretty neat engine, looks a bit more complicated than mine, and probably can rev 2000 rpm higher, but mine is unnaturally aspirated so I think I should be ok…

Thats a turbo engine zvolv, which isnt the same as mine:lol: a totally different kettle of fish, so you were getting ready to troll me when you didnt even know the FACTS, (good man)

This is on your ramp

This is on my workshop floor

For your record zvolv you want LEEDS BRADFORD AIRPORT IN WEST YORKSHIRE.

Bring warm clothing:oops:

This is a 4x4 project im currently on with, it is being painted as i write this and will be put together in the next few weeks, see what you think ?

Ah niiiiice! I didn't quite understand that you already HAD the motor! Beautiful job!

The reason no one bothers putting manual gearboxes coupled to these motors is the sheer performance the A/T box provides. I know a lot of people say ''real driving''requires to have a manual box... But let's face it, performance = auto. Clutch kicking the ass out = stick.

Do you have a time frame on how much time you think you'll need before you can turn the key? Goals/Projections? Will definitely be reading!

Haven't seen a thread that was worth the attention in a while!

Hey! My opinion! With a **** tonne of truth. Have you driven anything from SL/S/E/CL/CLS blown or not with the 55 or NA with the 63? Unless you're dogboxing it I doubt you can shift faster than the A/T that's in there.

Should be getting the 242 in a week or so ?

I need to finish the flywheel and clutch, so the motor and trans can be mated up.

Then its a case of getting the motor mounted,

Fitting the radiator.

Sorting the fuel tank and pump,

Mount a fly by wire throttle pedal,

Mount a hydraulic clutch pedal,

Then i can drop it off for wiring, and firing :oogle:

Im hoping for the next few months or so,

Ill keep you posted every step of the way.
