Default Volvo Parts

I am shopping around for timing belt, idler, and pulley for a Volvo 960 and found swedishautoparts.com. They sell aftermarket items at a great price. Looking at OEM cost for the belt, idler, and pulley are $150 and they have the all of the aftermarket parts for a total of about $25. Is this too good to be true? As important as the timing system is to a 960 it is hard to believe $25 worth or parts can last 50k miles.

Does anyone have any experience with the aftermarket product they sell or any experience with them in general? When I called them, they were nice and said they stand behind the products for 1 year. Well a timing belt and pulleys are not a 1 year item. If this $5 belt breaks then that is $800 + dollars in repair (may several thousand), sure they will give you another $5 belt but not fix your valves.

I think you answered your own question about after market parts.

Some aftermarket parts are OK, others are very cheap/not good. Always look for a name brand at a cheaper price. Never an unknown brand(China made)

FWIW, OEM Volvo or FebiBilstein rubber suspension bushings or Poly. Cheap rubber susp bushings aren't worth installing. CHeap rubber made in India. Lucky to last 6 months
