cleaning evaporator

I believe the easiest way is not easy: disconnect the lines and remove it from the climate unit to clean. Cleaning it makes sense- good chance of mold there. Once the evap is out you can somewhat vacuum inside the unit too.

At the shop there's a procedure where we cut about a 19mm hole in a certain vent, shove a spray wand applicator in there, then blast antimicrobial spray, then reseal the hole with a plug and RTV.

Put a leaf blower to it, seriously

The last 2 I've viewed both were filled with leaves on the entrance side (from fan to evap. coil case). I just vacuumed out my 92 745 which was barely possible by pulling the resister pack out of it's mounting hole..... used by $30 Amazon camera on endoscope (bluetooth to your phone, fabulous tool for remove vision). Detox would be a good idea as well to kill the mold that no doubt is living there.
