I would think your best option would be to go with a 2.25 system without cat, if you must run a cat then 2.5inch after the cat is not going to be loud, just keep to a twin box system.
If you want to go around corners faster forget the sway bars and go with some slightly stiffer springs and decent dampers. The worst handling Volvo's I have driven are ones with fairly stock suspension and IPD bars, more chance of going round the corner quicker with totaly blown dampers.
Cam wise the A is ok, a V or K cam would be a bit better but probably not worth the hassle of changing.
As to the flywheel changing to a flat flywheel does help the revs build faster and no real loss with towing etc but any lighter is likely to be a problem
