I've been on other board running the same platform as this and there's a code that can be used to resize images "<code>[img=100x50]" It doesn't seem to work here. Is there another command that does the same thing or is there a way that it can be incorporated?

What are you using for hosting? I use Imgur...nice and simple, plus it automatically resizes images if you put a lower case L just before the ".jpg" of the filename. For example, "http://i.imgur.com/Y6jjrKY.jpg" becomes "http://i.imgur.com/Y6jjrKYl.jpg" inside the
tags.

That's not what I'm talking about. Some forums like this one allow someone to use [IMG=0000x000] codes to reduce the size of the image without the need to resize the source which we may or may not have access to.
 
I know what he means. I can grab a screenshot from another forum that is/was on vbulletin - When someone inserted an image that was over a certain size threshold, you would see a bar or be able to click the image to view it in it's full size instead of the automatically resized version. On/above the image it would display 'This image has been resized, click the image/this bar to view the full version'

The powers that be would have to get the script/information for that and 'add' it to the forum's info/DB (about as vague terms as I can use).
 
No. We're using the
codes here to insert an image.

Some vbulletin boards allow one to do [IMG=1024x768] [/IMG] to post images so that the 2560x1530 sized images are too large.

Think of it as cropping an image you can't crop.
 
Bumping this instead of starting a new thread... This is something I've been meaning to get around to asking about (again). It's definitely one of my favorite features on other VB style boards that have the option installed/enabled.

Something along the lines of http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=184571 - Dug this up from light searching, I'm sure I could pester a few people on other sites and see what they used since not all seem to be compatible with the same VB Versions.

What it does (or should do) is have the image shown in a frame specified with proportions set by the administrator, with a bar just above it that says ‘This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized [XXXX by XXXX].’

I think it would a great enhancement for the site as they don't have to worry about resizing their media before uploading it or posting it here. This would cut down on page width/scroll length for threads in all sections, making the content easier to digest without constantly altering one’s window size.
 
I know what you're talking about... some boards force a resize to have uniform widths. I did't really like that because it lends itself to people posting massive photos and not realizing it.
 
Its not a feature built into vb3 from what i can find. I know if vb4 theres a much more user friendly image attachment setup for posting, and when I finally get around to doing an upgrade i'll likely change our design to use local resized images instead of hot linking all together. Back when we first started out with this setup bandwidth and drive space were hot commodities. Now its dime a dozen and i'd rather not have dead image links or have to explain to noobs how to post images.
