Hey guys, in the interest of drumming up some biz-ness for Darren overseas, I'd like to get some input on the differences between ours and the Euro cars. I think the motors are pretty well described in the performance section; The E-code headlights/turn signal lenses are also sort of a given... I think anyone seriously invested in their brick knows about this stuff already. I'm mostly interested in trim parts/emblems etc: the types of things Darren said he wouldn't mind shipping... hence Showroom. Any trick emblems that are actually in Swedish, or just emblems in general that we can't get here? How about concave/convex(i can never remember the difference) mirrors? I know they're out there for some cars, 700s maybe. Metric gauges... Any others? Also, grilles are well-known, but I searched and searched and didn't find the specifics, which years/trim came with which grilles, etc. I'd love an authentic Euro eggcrate grille for my '90 240, but some have chrome surround, others black.
Maybe neat OEM add-ons that would be much more likely to be found over there; specifically I'm thinking of the small rear handle for 240 trunks. Sorry for the lengthy and scatterbrain nature of the post, i'm typing this as I think of it. Basically:1. What parts are available that aren't common knowledge that would look sick on our bricks/ make them even more unique 2. What cars did they come on? part numbers? 3. If you can provide that, I'll spend as much time as necessary finding photographic evidence on the net of what these parts look like. 4. If someone has already done this, PLEASE provide me a link! I think it's important to foster American/European relationships so we can each get the cool parts so common across the pond from each other! If there's enough response and good concise info I can edit out the filler and put it up in the articles section. I know each individual part has probably been posted about, but I searched a lot and couldn't find any all-in-one 'article' type posts. Thanks guys! Thoughts/advice/input welcome. |

The Add-On kit for the 700 -89 and Polaris 17" alloys
Did 240's in the states ever come with wire regulated heater control? (instead of vacuum)

![]() is it true (I haven't started tthe dismantling operation yet, so I dunno!) that the fan blower motor is more accesible on this cable-regulated type than on the vacuum types? I'm thinking of swapping my us-edition vacuum with this one in the pic!
