Default intake questions

i just installed an intake on my 855T.

i went to autozone to get a 3 inch pipe thing to hook up the intake to the AMM and i saw on a box for an intake thing, a civic( so typical) with 2 intakes hooked up on one pipe with a Y shaped adapter connecting them.

my question is, would that increase performance more than just one?
another
where do i get a heat shield for the intake?

thank you very much

well apc airfilters are complete dog**** to begin with, so presumeably two would suck a little less than one, but i wouldn't hedge my bets. spend another $15 or so and get a k&n cone.

There are a bunch of variables that come into play with an intake. And frankly, it's mostly splitting hairs...it's not like one intake will get you 2hp, and the other will get you 30hp. I wouldn't bother with the dual setup. It's just an extra filter to clean/replace.

Some guys in the VW Corrado camp run dual intakes on the G60's, and it's never made a difference on the dyno from what I've seen.

I dunno...one filter is plenty for just about any professional race car I can think of. It's good enough for me too!
