Default Browntops installed... now what kind of FPR?

I've had browntops in my car for the last few months but I want to upgrade to a 4bar FPR. I ordered one from Autozone today, made by GP Sorensen. The part # is 800-121 and the computer said its a 55 psi regulator (3.79 bar). Would that be okay to use on the browntops w/ the 960 AMM or should I return it and get one that does a true 4bar? Car info is in my sig.

3.8 bar regulators are used all the time here in Sweden and people really like them. It will probably be a very good match for your injectors and AMM.

Ninja addition: Do you have an upgraded fuel pump btw?

Awesome, thanks for clearing that up. As for the fuel pump I believe it's just the OEM one and not an upgrade. It was replaced a few years ago by the previous owner at around ~85k it (has 148k currently)

Your stock pump will do you fine w/ the BT's until you start adding bigger turbo w/ boatloads of boost...looks like you have your audio under control!!!

Well what would boatloads of boost entail... I was planning on 15psi, but if I have the hardware to back it up I might go to 20, but probably not since this is my DD. Oh thanks for the comments on my audio stuff... I sell it at work and it's one of my passions

Did they go to just one pump in the later 940s? I'm asking because 740 turbos had one intank and one inline, but my n/a 940 has just one in the pump. All confusing...

Your N/A 940 has Regina which is a 1-pump system. High-pressure in-tank only.

All LH cars have a feeder pump in the tank and a main pump under the car.

Not sure... if I'm not mistaken there's one under the car right next to the fuel filter, dunno about an in-tank pump though.

EDIT: Nevermind, ninja poster above cleared that up.

Before i decided to go with a walbro fuel pump. i ran a 75 wet shot & 18 psi of boost. Afr's were good & it seemed as tho it had enough fuel.
(browntops w/4 bar fpr 15g turbo)

how much did that FPR cost? do you think with the 36# CFIs and that FPR i would be able to run E85 and a pretty high amount of boost eg 15-22lbs (90 740 turbo)

I don't have an AFR gauge right now so if I put the boost up to about 10psi and tossed in the FPR would that make me run crazy rich?

It had to be special ordered and took a few days to come in, but it was ~$40 out the door at Autozone.

You are incorrect sir. My 1995 940 turbo only has one pump in the tank. There is no 2nd pump under the car. Works great

volvo switched to a single pump system in the early 90's. I think it was 94 iirc. But i could be wrong.

Yes, just one pump from 1995 and up. The single in-tank pump itself is a Bosch 037 pump. The upgraded version for the late 940's (when the 037 finally breaks) is the 420 pump (same as S/V70 P1).

The 36# CFI's + higher pressure FPR would only give you the ability to run just a little bit more boost on E85 than you would be able to with stock injectors and gasoline. So no.
