Default Looking for odd size tires

I'm looking for a set of Maxxis MA-S1 Marauder 265/50 15R and 295/50 15R in an HR speed rating sold for SUV's.

http://www.maxxis.com/AutomobileLigh...-Marauder.aspx

The Maxxis web site claims they sell them, but I have not been able to find any place to buy them on-line except in Australia and Germany. Anybody have any information? I saw a British Cobra or GT40 forum which said that over there they are VR rated.

The only site I found that advertizes them is this German language site.

http://translate.google.com/translat...NA_en%26sa%3DN

I also found a set of yokohama Y352 265/50 R15 99H OWL at:

http://74.125.95.102/translate_c?hl=...Rzc2_CGcyYZE0w

It appears that these tires are not available in the USA. My only other choices are Cooper or Hankook in an SR rating. Drag radials would be 275/50-15 and 325/50-15, but I think that the 325's are too wide compared to the fronts to keep the balance equal on 10" and 12" rims.

Anybody have any info, suggestions?

Actually, I'm stuck in the disco 70's.
They claim they make 295/50-15's but I don't think that you can find them and they don't make 265's, Same for Goodyear, Firestone, or Toyo.

I could go with 17" torq-thrust II's with custom offsets and Sumitomo tires, but after I change the bolt pattern on a set of 164 hubs for 1/2" screw in studs and change the upper ball joint sleaves to put the 164 spindles on the 1800's control arms (untill I change out the entire 164 front suspension), and weld up and redrill the rear 1031 axles, I will be broke again. I have to get it drivable in order to get my wife to let me move it into her garage.

Also, how do they come up with their tire speed rating? Do they load up the tire to maximum load and pressure and see where they disintergate? If my wheel loads are 1/3 of the load limit, does that mean I can go that much faster?

Sorry, but 10" rims are already 2" over the recommended 265's rim width.

Actually, you SHOULD be fine even with the 255s. Some aren't listed as recommended to go up to 10", but should be just fine. Drifter peoples these days take much shorter sidewalled 225s and fit them on 9" wide wheels all the time.

Here's a reference(different diameter, but the section width and profile height are the same) http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...e1=yes&place=2

I don't see you having a problem fitting 255/50-15 tires on 10" wide wheels. Except for the problem of finding a tire that's for sale that's worth using and/or new.

I just can't find tires of H speed rating in the 265/50-15 size. I think that they should also be the same brand front & rear? The Maxxis retail locator on their web site doesn't work. I e-mailed them and received the name of a tire store in Montana, but they didn't respond to my e-mail. Not any of you guys in the big cities have ever seen a Maxxis tire dealer?

Thanks Michael, I see that they have the 295/50-15, but not the 265/50-15 which they advertize on Maxxis's web site as;

TP23880000 265/50R15 99H BSW 25.5 10.80 44 1,720 8.50 11/32
