Default auto to manual swap help in a 760

i just bought a 1990 760 turbo wagon. im in the process in making it a drift car with the help of Frank Yee (some of you know him) to show up some of the local nissan guys. anyway i have completed swaping every thing from pedals to driveshaft. i just pulled the manual transmission back out because the car would crank but not start.

All the transmission parts came from a 1985 740 wagon.

I was wondering if i need a different flywheel, i heard that there are flywheels that have steps on them for the crank position sensor.
is there away i can indent my current flywheel to make it work?
any help will be great thanks.

Default flywheel

If your 760 has LH 2.4, you will need one these:

Look on the top of the bell housing just below the distributor, you will see a small sensor for the timing...you can also look at the auto trans flexplate that came off, it will have the same 58 hole/one gap pattern as the flywheel needs.

i don't think the volvo trans is going to hold up in a drift application. i would highly recommend starting with a strong transmission from the beginning.

Don't know if the dealer still carries them, you can find them here on occasion. They are getting a bit scarce as not too many model years used them. 89 up NA cars and 90 up turbos, I think. Someone else may know for sure.
