can you do per-cylinder fuel trim adjustments?
Wishy washy I know.... I'll have to reread the LINK stuff, but I think if I go full sequential ignition I can, yeah.

I know everyone talks about uneven flow and stuff w/ the B234 mani but I've seen plenty of cars making a ton of power with them? And I've never seen a motor where it caused a problem definitively. Am I missing something? *Ideally* I'd be using a custom manifold but it's out of the budget now since I blew the original budget a loooooong time ago. Based on Josh's results w/ the B230 manifold like I have bolted to the engine now, it seems like the B234 is a better bet of the 2.

You can trim the cylinders, Configuration/Fuel-Advanced/Individual Cyl Fuel Corr., but for this to happen you need to know where you are and this is only possible if you can monitor each cylinder individually.

Cameron, your engine build is way out of the ordinary. Why do you think everyone is fallowing it so closely? Keep up the absolutely amazing work. I have been showing pictures of your build to my friends sense you started. I cannot wait to show them your videos.

Default More cool stuff from RSI

Stopped by RSI on my way home this evening. Oogled Bergen's car a bit and picked up this stuff from Jonathan & Pat. Getrag shifter kit using M46 parts. They modify the shifter cage from an M46 and also the selector rod in order to use a standard Volvo shifter on the Getrag. Totally rad. Also got some bronze shifter bushings to go with it.

Said shifter bushings:

Next to the old plastic bushing:

Shifter cage/adjustable selector rod:

Quick test fit on a spare Getrag I have in the garage:

Next to the original Getrag cage:

Volvo shifter quick test fit in new cage:

They build the selector rod in this kit to use the Volvo rod selector linky-thingy (that's the technical name ):

It attaches to the selector rod like so:

Other end of that will connect to the trans and the retaining pins will be held in by the stock Volvo sleeve. Super happy with this kit, and another cool product from RSI.

What I can't believe is why RSI hasn't posted any info pics on this kit yet - Jonathan, put it up on the website so these other fine folks can buy it from you too!

i very much can sympathize with the frustration, light-hearted, of not seeing their products on the website. you're lucky being able to just stop-by and browse. awsome.

you should turn the old (and now very vestigal) reverse lockout knob into a super stealthy overboost switch or something

I was thinking about running the old ugly M46 knob, minus the cap and maybe with a little duct tape on it for effect.

Try to find some *old* duct tape that's pretty dried out by now and has the edges frayed up Maybe write the shift pattern on the top with nail polish or something.

I like the way you think Imma see if I can get the BMW shift indicator plate to fit the M46 shifter first. If it does, I'll run that. If not, it's duct tape time

It's just one of those things that if you're on the haggard edge of things it can be dangerous since #2 and #3 are leaner than the rest, and without individual cylinder monitoring, they could be getting too lean even though all your instrumentation is saying things are still within an OK range.
You can make tons of power on it, just make sure and take plug readings and keep your ears tuned in well rather than just relying on an O2. :-)

I'm mostly going off of what I've heard from the heeb, as well as non-turbo b234s. I've never run a b234 mani on a turbo'ed car, even with the super skinny brake booster there was no way in hell it was going to fit.

The b230 mani isn't exactly the bee's knees either, but it's at least a bit more even.

No? I'm reeeeeally hoping I can make it fit w/ the skinny booster off a carb'd 240 along w/ the tight 90 degree elbow from ATP. I suppose I might have to switch to the V shaped master reservoir from an ABS car to a bit more room too, but hopefully not.

Duct tape idea is out the window for now... The BMW shifter emblem I ordered this morning just showed up, and I'll be damned, it fits ****ing perfect into the M46 shift knob

You know, you could use the same one on your M47 if you wanted.... Shift pattern is still correct for it and the knob itself is the same between the M46 and M47.
