You are aware that if you have not bypassed the temperature compensation board in the cluster, that the reading you see on the stock temp gauge is not the actual temperature of the coolant, right?

Just get an adapter, run the smaller vdo sensor to an actual gauge, and watch your temp climb when you get to a stoplight in real time.

I just noticed, your voltage is really low (I'm assuming your engine is not on).

There's a compensator board that is in your instrument cluster that is designed to decieve you of the coolant temp. Take that compensator board out and jump the first and third lead together. That will give you the ACTUAL temperature of your coolant.

Okay this is what you do.
1. Take your instrument cluster completely out 2. Unscrew the screws on the back of the cluster so that you can remove the circuit board and gauges in one piece. 3. There will be the compensation board sitting under the water and fuel gauges. It is about 4 inches long and held in by two clips on each side. 4. Once you have take that out you will see 4 leads sticking out of the circuit board. 5. Get a piece of wire and solder leads 1 and 3 together. 6. Reassemble. 7. Check out porn and whack off afterwards for a job well done. |

What do you mean how much will it move? It will give you the ACTUAL temperature. Instead of being deceived because of that compensation board.

after I circumsized my compensation board I see readings from slightly lower then center to slightly under red.. Also be aware that the temp guage on the 240 can be deceiving and go bad like mine bight be..
