Yes its mild steel because I am able to buy tighter radius bends in steel vs aluminum. He wanted to change some stuff around so it was shipped unfinished. They are usually powder coated and include a throttle spool.

it doesnt, i was just thinking aluminum so you dont have to worry about rust inside the adapter. since the intake sees condensation. but powdercoating would solve that.

Rust would not be much on an issue on the inside. Along with that condensation is some oil film.

Cool beans, someone should have done this a long time ago! Does it require porting the manifold? I would assume so, it'd be cool to see how much.

the 4 bolt flange is around 2.5 IIRC

2.5 on the 3 bolt and ~2.75 on the 4 bolt.

what exactly is the benefit of this? are the whiteblock throttle bodies a larger diameter or something?

Yes, they come in a couple different sizes. 16v is about the same as a stock 8v at 2.2", 850 and 960 are 2.6" but the 850 has a restrictor on the throttle plate. (may only be in NA models)
